Flow parameter detection plays an important role in the control of industry production. Flow parameter detection is a kind of rapid development and complicated technology. Among these technologies, mass flow rate measurement is one of the key and difficult point. Thermal power plants is the main role in our country electric power production, and it is the large industrial pollution sources which pollute the atmospheric environment. The flow of the flue gas emissions in thermal power plants is the important parameters of environment monitoring. So it is very important to measure that flow exactly.This paper introduces several technologies of measuring the flow of the flue gas emissions. Then the paper focuses on the hot-wire anemometer. And make a summary of these technologies about the advantage and disadvantage. The air flow in unit time was obtained by "speed-area" law, based on the flow regime’s distribution in rectangular pipe and "Log-Chebyshev" theoretical model to set spots, according to the average velocity by integral principle. Finally, a comparison of experimental verification of the solution is feasible, and we can make detection of large diameter flow accuracy greatly improved by using this method.
