Vanadium is an essential resource in the national military development, and it has been widely used in the industrial production. Stone coal is the largest storage vanadium mineral in China, but its production and utilization efficiency is low.Biomass energy has renewable and environment friendly advantages and it is an important research direction in the field of the new energy technologies. Biomass resources in our country are rich, so the rational utilization of biomass is important for us to create energy-based society.Roasting is the premise and foundation of vanadium conversion. This paper takes Hubei stone coal as raw, and it focuses on the roasting process. The innovative method presents the stone coal roasting technology with biomass instead of high quality coal. It can save resources and reduce pollution. This paper includes numerical simulation and experiment.Firstly, it established three-dimensional geometric model of rotary moving bed with Gambit software, and it introduced Euler model and Gas-solid two phase model with Fluent. It achieved the reversal process of material in the moving bed. Finally, it confirms the best speed of 1.0rad/s to 1.3rad/s, and it is the best at the sixth minute. On the basis of numerical simulation, it carried out four-part experiment, which included mineralogical analysis experiment, thermal analysis experiment, roasting experiment, and titration experiment. A. Determine stone coal characteristics and vanadium morphology by mineralogical analysis; B. Analyze biomass and additive on the influence of vanadium conversion; C. Analyze composite additive of different proportion on the influence of vanadium conversion; D. Analyze roasting time on the influence of vanadium conversion.Consequence: A. Biomass plays a promotion role for the decarburization and roasting process; B. At 850℃, the stone coal and biomass mixed with a 7:3 ratio roasting contributes to vanadium conversion; C. Different additives contribute to vanadium conversion and extraction; D. Adding the composite additive of 4 percent in the mixture, which percent of Na2CO3 and Ca CO3 is mixed at 6:4. At 950℃, it is the highest conversion rate of vanadium after 2h roasting, which conversion rate of vanadium is 60 percent.
