As the cooling water amount is highly needed by the ultra-fast cooling, basedon the characteristic of the 2160 hot rolling production line of QiangangSteel corporation, the water supply system is designed to realize the recycling of cooling water, and to establish a well-balanced water system. Fields applying results show that the applied designation of water supply system realized the recycling of cooling water, and also improved the using rate of the cooling water.Based on the characteristic of the hot rolling production line and the demand of the after-rolling cooling control system, the basic automation system platform is built to realized the tracking of strip steel head&tail position, the high precisionadjustment of cooling medium flow rate and pressure, the accurate calculation of strip steel sample and sample related characterization parameters, and the WinCC monitoring and some other functions.According to the characteristic of high running speed, short cooling section distance and the strong cooling power, etc. the PID controller and the cooling medium parameters coupling control method are adopted. According to the characteristic of fluid coupler and the demand of the water pressure and water amount, the scheme of water supply pressure and water flow rate control is developed. Field applications show that the flow control precision falls in the target value range of ±7m3/h, and the pressure is controlled within the range of ±0.03Mpa. Considering in the normal production process the ultra-fast cooling pipe needed to be opened and closed instantaneously, which influences the cooling medium flow and pressure in a high degree, the ultra-fast cooling control system is developed, through the PID control and the coupling control mode. It realizes the rapid and high precision control of the cooling medium flow rate and pressure of the ultra-fast cooling system, which meet the needs of production processes.In this paper, the monitor screenof the ultra-fast cooling control systems designed using WinCC according to the process requirements. The screen realizes the display of real-time data, the HMI intervention functionto the process system and the main parameter of L2 level display function, and the screen is running in good condition.
