Coal has been the main power source supporting the economic development of China in all ages. But the situation of production safety in coal industry is not in a good condition, especially in some medium and small-sized coal mines, which threatens not only the stability of the whole coal industry but also people’s life and property security.From the perspective of supervision, this thesis illustrates the development of coal mine video surveillance system which aims to connect the security surveillance system with the security monitoring computer network system, making it is available that the surveillant data can be transferred to the network center and each workstation can get the data of surveillance under authorities in time. The system master control computer gets the data of gas concentration from the database of coal mine gas computer. By analyzing these data,we can know if the gas concentration is normal or not, if there is anything unexpected happens, the system will drive the alarm devices and the ventilation air supply control panel and the power supply circuit panel, at the same time, it gives a message to coal mine entrance video monitor, making it start to work. It also uploads the real-time situation of the system to the network monitoring center for a record via the internet. The main task of video surveillance micro-computer in the coal mine entrance is processing the information about whether there is anyone enters the coal mine or not.This thesis firstly introduces the general and current situation of coal mine video surveillance system. Then it gives an overall scheme design of the system according to theoretical technology and practical application and shows the topological structure picture. Followed by the information above, it explains how the software system is created, including programming ideas and the structure soft system, etc. Especially, it illustrates the testing process of using the image recognition technology to monitor the entrance, and shows the core part of program design. In the end, the writer gives an outlook of the follow-up work for this subject.
