Coreopsis tinctoria is annual herbaceous plants, are rich in many kinds of active ingredients. The flavonoids among them were found in their strong antioxidant activity, and could inhibit the activity of the microorganism, which caused widespreas concern in recent years. In this paper, the extraction process of Coreopsis tinctoria was investigated, and the stability, antioxidant activity, inhibition activity of tyrosinase and the antibacterial activity of the extraction was studied. A Coreopsis tinctoria petal mask was developped, and the characteristics, the whitening effect and safety of the product were evaluated. The results are as follows:1. The optimum ethanol extraction conditions of Coreopsis tinctoria is:The Coreopsis tinctoria was crushed moderately, ethanol concentration was 70%(v/v), the ratio of solid to liquid was 1:30 (g/mL), for 45min,70℃ water bath for 60 min. The extract is stability for the storage time and low concentration of Na+, K+, Ca2+, but not for temperature and pH value.2. The ethanol extract from Coreopsis tinctoria showed strong antioxidant activity and tyrosinase inhibition.3. The ethanol extract from Coreopsis tinctoria also performed strong antibacterial activity, and the minimum inhibition concentration of the three tested bacteria is 15.63 uL/mL, while the minimum inhibition concentration of tested fungi is 62.50 uL/mL. The result shows that the Coreopsis tinctoria ethanol extract has a broad-spectrum antibacterial activity.4. The spreadability, lavelling property and whitening effect of Coreopsis tinctoria petal mask were significant. The ethanol extract from Coreopsis tinctoria in the system could inhibit the bacteria, but need to compound bio-preservative which could inhibit mold and yeast effectively.
