Due to its good economic and environmental benefits, methanol gasoline attracts the attention of nation and related sectors, studies of methanol gasoline has achieved some achievements.Many people still do not comprehend the methanol gasoline, this paper established a methanol gasoline comprehensive evaluation system with the comprehensive scoring method. Take M15 and M85 methanol gasoline as an example, this article introduced the nature of the different aspects of methanol gasoline in detail and compared it with gasoline, hope that people can have a intuitive feeling for the pros and cons of methanol gasoline.This paper selected four aspects as the evaluation index to evaluate the methanol gasoline comprehensively, respectively the physical and chemical properties(including the octane number, heating value, vapor pressure, distillation range, corrosive, toxic, etc), the power performance, the economic performance, and the emissions performance. First of all, this paper calculated the weight for each evaluation index, and then introduced the test methods and results of each evaluation index, take gasoline as a standard(the score of gasoline is 100 points), scored for each evaluation index, finally made a linear weighting and a nonlinear weighting to get the composite sore of methanol gasoline.The evaluation results indicate that relative to gasoline, there are certain advantages of methanol gasoline in general, in addition, the higher the proportion of methanol, the more obvious advantages. It has higher octane rating and better antiknock properties. The price of methanol gasoline is lower, especially high proportion of methanol gasoline. CO, HC and other conventional emissions of methanol gasoline have reduced significantly, which has a positive effect to reduce air pollution. The power performance is lower than that of gasoline, but the difference is small. The main problem is that the methanol gasoline has the corrosion and swelling, and the formaldehyde and other unconventional emissions are higher than that of gasoline, but these problems have been resolved by taking some technical means. The methanol gasoline is economic and is very beneficial to alleviate the energy shortage and environmental issues, it is worth spreading.
