RHF, short for Rotary hearth furnace, is the technology of a fast direct reduction on coal base. The earliest thought of the process is put forward by American Ross company, and begin to scale test in 1964. It has been 36 years of history from building the first rotary hearth furnace in 1978 in the United States until now. Rotary hearth furnace direct reduction furnace smelting technology has the advantages of advanced technology, high work rate, simple process, low energy consumption, the recovery rate of resources advantages and low investment. Compared with other technologies, rotary hearth furnace technology level and cost effectiveness have obvious advantages.With the development of society, the government begin to change the adjustment of economic structure, which simultaneously advocate to promote economic growth by technological progress and to promote the efficient use of energy. China began to track the application and development of rotary hearth furnace technology and established a number of pilot in the country from the 90’s of last century. The characteristics of energy efficiency of rotary hearth furnace process make it with broad prospects for development, what’s more, the advanced scientific engineering management plays a vital role in implementation and application of these projects. Project life cycle management as a mature project management theory, which has important theoretical and practical significance for rotary hearth furnace engineering management. At present, the research has not applied the life cycle theory to guide the rotary hearth furnace project engineering management practice.Laiwu steel rotary hearth furnace engineering whether in terms of equipment scale,bottom width and body diameter, or process equipment, technology content and so on are at the leading level at home and abroad. In view of this, combined with practical engineering(Laiwu steel rotary hearth furnace engineering), this thesis systematically described rotary hearth furnace construction process management. In order to carry out a practice and summary of the rotary hearth furnace project management. Based on the life cycle theory of project, the project implementation process is divided into five process: start, plan,implementation, control and ending. Firstly, this paper introduces the general situation of the project and relevant background, and analysis the characteristics of the project and projectmanagement which according to project own situation. Secondly, introduces the planning work before the project officially started which including schedule, cost and quality. Then,emphatically introduces the dynamic control in the process of the project. Finally, introduces engineering management achievements, and has carried on thorough summary through the experience of engineering management. The practice proved that the rotary hearth furnace engineering management need the whole life cycle theory as the guide, and makes process planning. Moreover, using dynamic control idea to make goal programming and using strong matrix form to make organization planning of project. In order to provide reference of rotary hearth furnace construction project management.
