Titanium dioxide, the third ranking in inorganic compounds,was one of the world’s fastest developing inorganic chemical products and was the basis of fine chemical raw material widely used in paints, plastics, paper, chemical fiber and cosmeticsAt present, there were two main methods of titanium dioxide production—sulphuric acid and chlorination process,which were applied to industrial production. The other methods such as Hydrochloric acid, phosphate and nitrate acid process were not applied to industrial production in the reason of low recovery rate of titanium, serious corrosion of equipment and high raw materials demand.According to the physicochemical properties of high titanium slag from Zunyi titanium industry co-LTD, a new method for preparing titanium dioxide, which added Na2CO3 and Waste hydrochloric acid instead of industry hydrochloric acid, was put forward in basis of Hydrochloric acid method. The conclusion were obtained as following:(1)It was showed that iron sodium and titanium sodium could be produced and solid solution could be destroyed through roasting with Na2CO3. The leaching rate of Ti O2 was 95.48% at modifier 0.7:1, roasting temperature 850℃, roasting time 2h.(2)According to dynamics analysis of modified roasting process, it is showed that the diffusion of Na2CO3 in the solid product layer was the main restricted link and Ea was 93.532KJ/mol in basis of GB model :[ ]2/3 31-2 / 3X -(1-X) =8.14′10 exp -93532 /(RT) ·t(3)The leaching rate of Ti O2 was 95.60% in the condition of granularity 200 mesh, liquid-solidratio 5:l,acid concentration 30%,reaction time 1.5h,leaching temperature 70℃.The hydrolysis rate of Ti O2 was 94.02% in the condition of hydrolysis temperature 100℃, hydrolysis time 70 min, dilution ratio 1:1.(4) Gradeof rutile titanium dioxide was 99.41%.Rutile titanium dioxide was prepared in the condition of roasting temperature 1200℃, roasting time 2h.
