The surface of maojiazhuang coal in shanxi is not flat, and the depth of coal seams is relatively shallow. In the mining process of working face, the roadways, pressure appeared abnormally and severely, and often formed dynamic load. This led the roadways surrounding rock deformation and destruction seriously. But after a period of time, the mine pressure gradually returned to normal.In this paper, by collecting relevant literature reviews and field investigation, the preliminary conclusion getted–the main influence factor is the shade slope landscape. In order to solve this problem, the following works have been done. First, the various physical and mechanical parameters of coal and rock is obtained by laboratory tests. According to the test results, the numerical calculation model and similar physical model are setted up. The simulation results show that the rock pressure of roadway appears similarly in the process of roadway drivage. but it appeares different characteristics through different stages in the process of the coal mining face. It mainly manifested in the following aspects:(1)The mined-out area overburden has a trend of sliding to the bottom of the valley in the downhill stage but has the trend of reverse to bottom of the valleyin the uphill stage.(2)The advance support pressure is different in different stages,it is longest in downhill stage and shortest in uphill stage.(3)the distance between coal wall and the peak value of advance support stress.It is longest in downhill stage and shortest in uphill stage.(4)Advance support stress concentration factor is different in different stage. It is largest in uphill stage and smallest in downhill stage.(5)In the uphill stage, the roadway pressure appears severely, and the deformation and failure of the roadway are very serious.The research results show that the uphill stage is the key support area and need to increase the support strength than other stages. In order to verify the research result, it was used in industrial test on site. By comparing the deformation of roadway surrounding rock and bolt force with the previous similar roadways. The result shows that the effect of the new support scheme of roadway is better, and the deformation of surrounding rock controlled effectively. Just made a local repair in the uphill stage in the process of mining face. This research provides the scientific basis and certain reference value for the similar roadway supporting.
