Since twentieth century, resource’s shortage and the environmental pollution have been developed into serious threat to human living and society sustainable development. All countries in the world take measures to deal with them. Palm as an environment-friendly material with extensive sources, has a long history. Currently, industrial applications of palm main stay in experience level, lack of systemic research. In this paper, palm and palm fiber mattress are selected as the research object, carry out research on the structural characteristics of palm and optimization of palm mattress. The works in this dissertation are mainly focused on the following aspects:Firstly, according to the characteristics of flake fiber structure product by professional equipment, select representative porous structure unit cell. By using the equivalent theory, The equivalent elastic constants are derived. Combined with the tensile test of flake fiber structure, analysis of influence factors of flake fiber structure’s mechanical behavior.Secondly, establish the mechanical equivalent model of triangular and trapezoidal corrugated sandwich structure, and the equivalent elastic constants’ formulas are deduced. By using ANSYS to establish model. Compare the result between two method. The stiffness and weight’s formulas of different kinds of hard sandwich plate are deduced according to composite material mechanics.Thirdly, through compressing test of sample of mattress’ s support layer, the compression stress- strain curve, the strength and the Young’s modulus can be obtained. Then the impact of sample’s thickness, density, types and concentration of glue are analyzed.In addition, in terms of structural lightweight design, the multi-constraint conditions of sandwich structure under stress are analyzed. Build the multi-constraint optimization model of sandwich structure. Using the related optimization algorithm, to solve engineering problems.
