Carbon or graphite materials, with a series of excellent properties, such as the proportion of small, high heat resistance, high temperature strength, wear resistance, electrical conductivity, self-lubrication and so on. The paper cost natural flake graphite as raw materials, high char yield phenolic resin powder as a binder, going by the molding, isostatic pressing and firing without the process of graphite, made a good performance prepared porous carbon or graphite materials. This paper from raw materials, molding pressure, dipping angles, through different types and content of the binder, the type of natural graphite content of petroleum coke, pitch coke content and different of isostatic pressing pressure of carbon, explored graphite materials affect the mechanical, electrical and pore properties, and made the phase composition and microstructure analysis. The results showed that:(1) With the increasing amount of phenolic resin, crystallinity of carbon graphite material increases, phenolic resin content of 33wt% of the raw material, the carbon graphite material bending strength and compressive strength respectively. reached 40.7 ± 0.47 MPa, 54.2 ± 1.03MPa;(2)Petroleum coke aggregate porosity doing less, and less than the number of large holes pitch coke, there are more holes exist.(3) With the amount of graphite is increased, the bending strength of the obtained carbon graphite material and the compressive strength decreases, the resistivity decreases; the smaller the particle size of the graphite, porosity and pore size are reduced.(4) Within a certain range, the molding pressure has little effect on the material properties of carbon graphite, carbon graphite material forming a pressure of 130 MPa, and has a good bending strength and compressive strength and electrical resistivity. Within a certain range of pore forming pressure less affected performance. Total porosity, pore size, pore surface area and a series of sub-type features have a significant impact on the overall performance of carbon graphite material.(5) The ratio of non-impregnated when appropriate to the mechanical strength of the material of the evaluation criteria identified as: petroleum coke: pitch coke: phenolic resin: graphite = 4.5: 1.5: 3.5: 1;(6) The aggregate of carbon petroleum coke After a graphite impregnated with phenolic resin, bending strength and compressive strength were increased up to 45.7 ± 0.47 MPa, 75.2 ± 1.03 MPa, reduced electrical resistivity is not obvious.
