Over the past several decades, plastics have moved from small-scale application in highly specialized niche markets, to a ubiquitous presence in everyday consumer products. It has become one of the most commonly used material. The injection moulding is one of the most important processing methods in polymer material processing areas. Due to the large scale of this process makes its impacts especially critic and a minor efficiency improvement may lead to substantial energy savings. The research on energy consumption of the injection molding process is not only reduce the cost of product, but also an important part of energy conservation and emissions reduction policy. Through the study on energy consumption in injection molding process, considering products materials, products structure, processing parameters and die structure, find the relationship between the injection energy consumption and the various factors. By adjusting the related parameters to make injection molding machine work under the lower energy sonsumption state, it can achieve the goal of energy saving.In this paper, by analyzing the distribution of the energy consumption in the injection molding process, focus on the energy consumption in the filling stage and construct calculation model. First, by Moldflow MPI analysis software to simulate the the molding process of standard products-disk, which is using in the energy consumption test of injection molding machine, get the injection pressure P and the volume flow rate Q of every moment in the filling stage of the injection molding process, calculate the related energy value E according to the thermodynamic principle. This value is the required minimum energy consumption to shape disk, which is injecting basic energy consumption.Second, adopt the control variable method to discuss the relationship between the energy consumption in filling stage and productc structure, gating system and process parameters. Based on the simulation experimental data of Moldflow MPI and Matlab curve fitting tool fitting out the corresponding curve and function equation, and uses the multivariate fitting principle to construct the empirical formula of the energy consumption.Then build the injection energy consumption system to study bassic energy consumption accounts for the percentage of the actual power and verify the accuracy of the basis energy consumption experiencethe model.Finally, using the neural network to construct the another calculating energy consumptiom model-BP neural network energy consumption calculation model, and compare the advantages and disadvantages of two kinds of energy consumption calculating model.
