The sugar ester shows surface activity, which can be used as oil-in-water(O/W) emulsifier. With good performance in mildness and easy washing, sugar ester can be applied in daily use chemical. Dodecenylsuccinic glucose ester was made and purified.1. Dodecenylsuccinic glucose esters(DDSG) were prepared from glucose and DDSA, in water and under alkaline conditions. Surface tension and CMC were measured with Wilhelmy type, and the functional groups were shown in FT-IR. The critical micelle concentration(CMC) reached the minimum value(0.05g/L), while 0.3M DSSA(based on 1M glucose) was added. Increasing the amount of DDSA doesn’t make the CMC decrease, which fits to the results in FT-IR.2. Having single-factor experiments, including the proportion of acetonitrile and water, the injection volume and different ion-pairing agents, were to develop a method for the determination of glucose and DDSG with HPLC. The results showed that the optimal conditions were: acetonitrele: water(55:45), 0.1%(V: V) TFA, injection volume 7u L, flow rate 1m L/min, which could determine glucose and hydrolyzated DDSA.3. Silica particles were modified on the surface. Then the molecular imprinting polymer(MIP) imprinted with glucose was grafted to the surface of modified silica. FT-IR and energy dispersion were used to represent the MIP. The results showed that the surface of silica was covered with thin polymer film. The adsorbing capacity was taken as index to optimize the adsorption conditions. The results showed that the optimal adsorption conditions were: MIP 1.0g, glucose solution 11mg/m L, time 1h, temperature 20~30℃. The max adsorption doze was 78.77mg/g.4. The glucose content was measured in gravimetric method after purification with MIP. The results showed that the highest percentage of glucose ester was 19.71%. The strength of ester bond in FT-IR got enhanced. And the surface tension decreased after purification, which indicated that DDSG worked.5. Compared to the surfactants like APG, AES and LAS, DDSG has better performance in surface activity. The HLB values of DDSG are between 13 and 16, which can be used as oil-in-water(O/W) emulsifier. The solubility of surfactant in Zein, was taken to test the mildness of different surfactants. The results showed that the Zein of APG and DDSG were 0.0037 and 0.0014g/100 g respectively, which meant that DDSG was milder than APG.DDSG and AES were used in shower gel and the results showed that DDSG decreased the viscosity and foam height. Meanwhile, the shower gel was milder and easier to wash, which fitted the law of developmental direction in daily chemical products.
