With the continuous development of iron and steel industry, the steel plate flatness requirements are more and more stringent. Subject to the plate straightening as the research direction, based on the design of the Flattening machine, an in-depth study of design of the flatness detection device and press auxiliary equipment is conducted, combining with related research program to improve the automation process of flattening machine.First, the actual production related problems of plate straightening are summarized, taking the "flatness detection device", "the shape meter" and other key words refer to the shape control related writings and literature. With research and analysis of the straightening of the elastic-plastic theory, the theory related to the flattening machine and technology is more deeply researched.Then, combined with the structure parameters of flattening machine and the establishment of three dimensional model, the flattening mill flatness detection device are designed by Solidworks, and a reasonable work flow of the detection device is analysed. The feasibility analysis of the key parts of detecting device is made by Solidworks simulation. To further study the flattening process, head parts of pressing machine and the design of the cushion block device model has been improved, so that the flat model is more reasonable. The flattening scheme is determined based on the Calculation of plate model data by Matlab.Finally, based on Abaqus finite element software platform, the finite element model of the flattening process is built. In the press straightening finite element simulation process, we changed the parameters of plate model, and summarized of different energy parameters effect on the calculation pressure plate. Combined with the elastoplastic analytical calculation based on theoretical model, the relationship between the amount of pressure plate and various parameters are set up. Finally, further verification on the relationship between the obtained reduction and related parameters is made, which provides effective reference for flattening process and theory for wide thick plate.
