Taking gob-side entry retaining of 1198 fully-mechanized caving face with thick immediate roof in Ge Quan Colliery as the engineering background, by comprehensive using of theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and the method of industrial test, this thesis began with analyzing characteristics of surrounding rock structure, established the fracture mechanic model of main roof for gob-side entry retaining of fully-mechanized caving face with thick immediate roof, analyzed stability factors of surrounding rock structure, systematic study on surrounding rock control technology for gob-side entry retaining of fully-mechanized caving face, main research harvests are as follows:(1) Compared to gob-side entry retaining of thin and medium thick coal seam, the Gob-side Entry Retaining of Fully-mechanized Caving Face have these characteristics as follows: Roadway-in roof is coal, once taken coal seam is thick, roof structure is far away from ming stope, stabilizing time of surrounding rock is long; these characteristics reduced the stability of surrounding rock and increased the control difficulty. The gob can be filled with waste rock, the main roof formed "slanting cross beam" structure after breaking and maintained better stability with thick immediate roof.(2) Studied the fully-mechanized caving face surrounding rock stress distribution and deformation characteristics with thick immediate roof, analyzed the influence as follows: thickness and stiffness of top coal, thickness and stiffness of immediate roof, location, width and strength of filling wall, and length of hold the top coal for the control of gob-side entry retaining of fully-mechanized caving face provides a theoretical basis.(3) Analyzed the stress distribution and deformation characteristics of gob-side entry retaining of fully-mechanized caving face, proposed the use of high strength, high preload Bolt(Cable) remains the top coal coal stability and strengthen filling wall deformation resistance control technology.(4) It carried out a successful industrial test of 1198 fully-mechanized caving face, through on-site mine pressure monitoring data showed that surrounding rock and filling structure keeped basically stablity, meetted the requirements, the results of this study validate the correctness and reliability.
