Spontaneous combustion of coal is one of the main disasters in coal mining industry. Coal spontaneous combustion can be attributed to many factors, such as the degree of coalification, the coal rock composition, moisture content, sulfur content, environment and climate. Normally, few relevant researches have been performed in the changes on properties of coal spontaneous combustion in the long-term soak.Both experimental and theoretical methods are adopted in this paper. Soaking 4 coal of different metamorphic grades are soaked by distilled water. Research indicate that, after soak, inorganic ions are Ca、Mg、K、Na, the most ion of qincheng 2 coal,linhuan 10 coal and bulainta 2-2 coal are Na;the most ion of kouzidong 13 coal are Ca; hydroxyl, benzene, ether oxygen bond compounds in organic compounds. Surface area and pore volume of the coals soaked by distilled water are bigger than the former. Dubinin-Radushkevich and Dubinin-Astakhov of linhuan 10 coal, kouzidong 13 coal and bulianta 2-2 coal soaked by distilled water are bigger.But qincheng 2 coal is smaller. Dubinin-Radushkevich and Dubinin-Astakhov of coals soaked by distilled water are decreases and then increases with the increases of in metamorphic grade of coals. The adsorption curves is near Ⅰ type isotherm.Research on low temperature oxidation experiment of coal before and after soak indicate that main gas-product in low temperature oxidation experiments are CO、CO2、CH4、C2H4、C2H6 and C3H8. Oxygen consumption characteristics of the coal soaked by distilled water increase varying degrees. Especially,qincheng 2 coal and bulianta 2-2 coal. Other, the moments of gaseous products increase varying degrees,and the rate of increase is significant.Research on oxidation kinetics experiments indicate that propensity of qincheng 2 coal and linhuan 10 coal to Spontaneous Combustion becomes from difficult to spontaneous combustion.All in all, in this paper, a series of advanced experiments were launched to research effects on properties of coal spontaneous combustion in the long-term soak. With following dimensions including the product ingredients, microstructure, oxidation kinetics,the characteristic of the effect is studied thoroughly and deeply.
