The influence on top coat hardness and anti-adhesive back of water-borne wood coating was studied in this paper. The water-based finish coat with outstanding overall performance such as high hardness and anti-adhesive back property was prepared by control variable method,selection of main resin and additives. This paper was introduced as follows.In the first part, the effect of main resin on membrane performance was studied through composite resin. It was found that the high hardness and anti-adhesive back would be obtained by 7: 3 composite ofthe self-crosslinking acrylic emulsion XK-14 and polyurethane acrylicdispersion liquid E-129, and the other properties also meet national standards. Due to the higher glass transition temperature of composite membrane of XK-14 and E-129, morecoalescing agent was added to decrease the membrane forming temperature. When dipropylene glycol n-butyl ether(DPn B) and dipropylene glycol methyl ether(DPM) have the mass ratio of 2:1 as film forming additives, the film presents high film hardness and anti-adhesive back at low temperature 5℃ with the amount of 9%.In the second part, the influence of different wax additives on film performance was researched. After fully dispensation of wax additives in water-based paint, the wax additives would be well-dispersed in the coating in forming process, which is good to the scratch resistant and anti-adhesive back properties. In experiments, we found that nonionic emulsion AQUACER-513 of high density oxidized polyethylene wax has excellent comprehensive performance such as hardness and scratch resistant with the addition of 4-5%.In the last part, we discussed the influence of other addtives for film surfaceperformance. In experiments, the film of TEGO-450 agent from Evnoic company in Germany and Drewslip738 agentfrom Ashland company in the USA preformed well with the addition ratio of 1:1 and amount of 0.5%, that TEGO450 good for scratch resistant and Drewslip738 good for anti-adhesive back property. Fumed silica ACEMATT-3600 modified by polysiloxane from Degussa company has excellent dispersion and matte effect, with higher film hardness and anti-adhesive back properties, which is quite fit for matte finish.
