Lignite is a lower rank coal with high moisture, high porosity, high volatile and low calorific value, easyspontaneous combustion, breakableafter thermal treatment, and usually used as generating electricity. Shengli lignite was chosen as the sample in this study.The sample of coal was characterised by the proximate analysis and FT-IR. Coal samples were processed by hydrochloric acid, and minerals were added into coal processed by hydrochloric acid. The article focused on discussing the temperature programmed steam gasification(TPSG) of coal samples in different atmospheres. Gasification reaction was analyzed by thermodynamics and dynamics, and reaction mechanism of minerals in situ catalytic steam gasification reaction about Shengli lignite was presented.The results indicate that surface functional groups of coal samples is no significant differences. Si O2 of inside in the coal is not eluted with Hydrochloric acid, significantly. Steam gasification reactivity of coal samples after hydrochloric acid treatment is poor. The added minerals catalyze steam gasification reactivity of coal samples after hydrochloric acid treatment, obviously.Different minerals have different catalyticability. Ca can catalyze steam gasification reaction of Sheng Li lignite in low temperature about(600℃-750℃), effectively. Na and K can catalyze steam gasification reaction of Sheng Li lignite in intermediate-high temperature(650℃-800℃). Fe can catalyze WGSR in low temperature about(500℃-650℃), but there is no significant catalytic effect that carbon is gasified directly, so Fe has no obvious catalytic in the total steam gasification. N i has a certain catalytic ability in steam gasification, which carbon is gasified directly in intermediate-high temperature(700℃-850℃), but has no obvious catalytic effect in the WGSR. So N i has a poor catalytic ability in the total steam gasification. The catalytic effect of minerals is mainly achieved by WGSR and carbon direct gasification reaction in catalytic steam gasification process. The catalytic effect can reduce the vaporization temperature and save the energy. Ca,K and Na improve steam gasification reactivity of Sheng Li lignite, significantly. It is a great value for making syngas in industrial.
