At present, subsidence problems caused by coal mine underground mining have become increasingly prominent, which brought great problems to people’s production and life. Based on the analysis of current status at home and abroad about the mining subsidence prediction, this paper has carried out the research for mining subsidence, developed a subsidence prediction module and applied it in Qianjiaying Mine of Kailuan Group. The main contents are as follows.(1) Through the research and analysis of mining subsidence prediction method, this paper takes the probability integral method as the theoretical basis for this study. The mining parameters can be obtained from three-dimensional geological models in the mine area, and the prediction parameters are gained through the calculation with the least square fitting method.(2) Making a detailed study for overall design of mining subsidence prediction module. The module is developed through independent research plus the existing software. The research has completed five sub-modules as data management, parameters calculation, prediction calculation, result display and result analysis according to module’s design objectives, principles and functional needs.(3) After studying the main algorithm of sub-modules, this paper uses database technology to achieve the goal of managing the original data and the results data as a whole. Matlab GUI interface design and programming is used to calculate the prediction parameters. It also presents a probability integral formula of approximate calculation algorithm through the study of probability integral formula and achieves the ground movement and deformation prediction; generates three-dimensional subsidence basin, movement and deformation curves, contours, etc. according to the prediction results, and then realizes the result analysis through the movement and deformation contours.(4) Taking 1176 East surface movement observation station as research area in Qianjiaying Mine of Kailuan Group, this paper applied the research in mining subsidence prediction module, and had verified the reliability of the research results in mining subsidence prediction, as well as the operational stability.The application case showed that the developing software module used the theory and method is correct and practical in this paper. The module has guiding significance to solve the problem such as the village relocation, "three under" mining, the long-term development planning of mining area and other issues for Qianjiaying Mine.
