Grinding hardening technology actively uses heat and mechanical effects generated in grinding directly on the surface hardened. Hardened steel parts are produced by the martensitic phase transformation of surface strengthening laye, like surface strengthening processing performance. Grinding hardening integrates the surface heat treatment technology into the machining production line. It is a kind of green manufacturing process, which reduces the production cycle, the production cost, and the energy consumption and pollution to the environment.This paper has studied on the consistency of the dstribution of the surface hardening layer research of grinding workpiece, based on test and ANSYS for grinding hardening process in the temperature. It uses the temperature change curve of the part, combining with the principle of steel’s hardenability, material heat treatment and grinding hardening theory of grinding hardening layer hardness calculated theoretical formula is established. It summarizes the hardness distribution by finding out the factors influencing the grinding parts hardness of surface strengthening layer.This paper has studied grinding hardening technology by experiments. The experiment chose 45 steel as the grinding material and gived large cutting depth slowly feed speed plane without grinding liquid. It measured the hardness of specimen surface strengthening layer after grinding, and the hardness and thickness of the fracture surface. On test result carried on the thorough analysis, has been clear about the different effects of grinding conditions on the workpiece surface strengthening layer, thus to summ up the regularities of grinding parts surface strengthening layer of hardness distribution.This paper used the ANSYS finite element software for grinding hardening pieces in the temperature field simulation. It uses temperature curve to calculate the cooling rate of the parts, combined with the specimen material each chemical content, calculate the surface hardness of the hardened layer, cross section hardness and the thickness of hardening layer. It compared simulation results with the test results, finding that the errors in the allowed ranges, and validated the correctness of experiment and simulation results with each other.Studies have shown that, using grinding heat makes grinding parts of the surface har dening layer is feasible. For large cutting depth of slow feed grinding feed along the direction of the workpiece surface strengthening layer of cutting area, transition area is not obvious, completely hardened zone accounted for the vast majority of proportion. But the clarity of strengthening layer section can be divided into completely hardene d zone, transition zone and the basal body zone.Grinding heat is phase change in the material of components is a major cause of workpiece surface produce reinforcement. Surface hardness distribution of the hardening layer has completely discrete, but little change. Main factors affecting the hardness is workpiece material and cooling rate, Among them, the workpiece materials play a leading role.
