In recent years, due to imports of massive foreign coal, air pollution and the rapid development of new energy and other factors, the coal market has become increasingly downturn, coal companies are facing unprecedented challenges. Under this background, the survival and development of energy efficient coal mining enterprises is particularly important. Conveyor undertakes the important task of underground and ground coal transportation, it is an important guarantee for the coal production to stable operation. In the actual transport process, changes on coal mining geological surface and some fault in process of conveying often cause coal quantity is very few, even the belt was operated in accordance with the maximum carrying capacity constant speed, with no-load, which lead to the waste of energy, cause unnecessary economic burden to the enterprise. This paper puts forward energy saving control scheme of variable frequency speed regulation of a coal mine coal Pingshuo area belt transport system, namely the belt speed can vary with the amount of coal, realize the dynamic energy saving control. This paper first analyzes the necessity of adopting the belt conveyor soft start, gives the optimized "S" shaped starting curve, and analyzes the main factors about the influence of belt conveyor’s power, and then put forward the belt conveyor automatic energy-saving control scheme, speed curve is given through the belt speed match with the amount of coal, then optimize the hardware and software of belt conveyor control system. Simulation of the mathematical model of belt conveyor for energy saving control system was carried out by using the software, named MATLAB, and using the two degree of freedom model driven PID control strategy to ensure control system accurate and stable. The system become a variable frequency drive system after the upgrading, system can continuous normal operation time grows greatly, and also changed the disadvantages that other driving mode’s belt speed can’t be regulated. This study has great economic significance for the current downturn coal enterprise, as well as a response to promote the country policy of energy-saving and emission reduction.
