As one of the most important air polluters, NOx has become a deteriorative problem. The study of removing the NOx is historic. The methods of the NOx decomposition are the chemical catalysis and plasma method. But the decomposition of NO by the synergistic action of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma and the catalysts is one of the new methods to remove the NOx. In this paper, the influences of various experimental parameters of DBD and the selectivity of catalysts were investigated in detail.The contents are summarized as follows:1.Research and produce the reactor of synergistic plasma with catalysts.2.Research and produce the catalysts, which can be used in decomposing NO.3.Research the process conditions and electric parameters of theremoval of NO. 4.Study the influence to the decomposition of NO by adding theoxidative gases, such as oxygen and water vapor quantitatively. 5.Explore the mechanism of decomposition of NO. The results and conclusions are summarized as follows:1.When we take the NJ-1 support as dielectric substance, we got the best efficiency of NO.2.The metal-loading catalysts and the metal oxides-loading catalysts activate the removal of NO. We found that the M-O/NJ-1 and M-O/γ-Al2O3 are best, the removal efficiency of NO is 90% and 78%.3.We used the M-O/NJ-1 as catalyst in the system of dielectric barrier discharge plasma firstly. At the room temperature and atmosphere pressure, when the plasma power is 16W, the removal efficiency is 90%.4.The loading quantity of M-O on the NJ-1 support influents the reaction. At first, the removal efficiency increases as the loading quantity increases, when it is 20%, the catalytic activity is best, but after this, the efficiency decreases.5.Plasma parameters (Voltage, Plasma power, etc) are important in the decomposition of NOx, as well as technological parameters (Reactant gas's speed, Air intake, Catalyst's load volume).6.The addition of oxygen is inconvenient to the reaction, but when the addition of oxygen is 5%, the plasma power is 16W, the efficiency is 70%, this phenomenon is an important condition for the more progressive study of the removal of the NOx.7.When we add oxygen and water vapor quantitatively in the same time, the removal efficiency of NO decreases. When the addition of oxygen is 10% and the water vapor is 3.6%, the removal efficiency is 51%.8.The synergism mechanism in the reaction system of plasma and catalyst is that the plasma can activate reactants, While the catalysts can selectively improve the percent conversion.
