Two strains of endophytic fungus associated with the production of taxol, Y3and T14,which were isolated from taxus yunanensis and taxus qinglingense respectively. The result of study in the prophase showed that the taxol production of T14 was higher than that of Y3 under the same condition, So T14 was selected for further investigation on the optimum conditions of taxol production. the results showed that the optimum conditions for T14 to product taxol were 30℃,pH 5.5,sucrose as carbon source,0.3%NH4Cl as nitrogen source. After T14 had been fermented for 24 hours, we discovered that addition of sucrose by fits could rapidly improve biomass and production of taxol. The addition of mixed precursor composed of Phenylalanine ,Tyrosine and Ammonium acetate to the medium can more evidently improved the taxol content than Phenylalanine did alone, and the taxol content of using mixed precursor was 352.64 (g/L. On the other hand, Magnesium sulphate, Manganese chloride and Potassium phosphate monobasic completely inhibited the production of taxol.
