Physico-chemical, thermochemistry and kinetics of dehydration of MgCl2·H2O were studied. The theoretical data and the optimum operating conditions of dehydration of MgCl2-6H2O were obtained. The dehydration of MgCl2·H2O was studied with thermal analysis in flowing air at different heating rates. The results showed that hydrolysis took place with dehydration. MgO was the end-product of thermal treatment in flowing air. The dehydration process had the higher activation energy. The thermal decomposition of MgCl2·H2O and the kinetics of the process were studied by DTA, TG,DTG, XRD, chemical analysis of Mg2+, Cl- and water analysis in flowing air mixed with chloride hydride. The results indicated that no hydrolysis took place. MgCl2 was the end-product of thermal treatment in flowing air mixed with chloride hydride. The results indicated that fluidity was rapid heat-mass transfer and dewater rapidly. Purify MgCl2 were obtained in a fluidized bed at 300 using dehydrating agent and 5 percent of chloride hydride.
