The process of electromagnetic radiation (ultraviolet, visible or infrared) produced in a chemical reaction from the decay of an excited species to the electronic ground state is known as chemiluminescence(CL). In 1871, Radziszewski found that lophine can be oxidized by HjC^ and emit yellow light. After that, CL analysis have been developed and improved continuously. Now, CL analysis has become a preferred technique for the analysis of a range of drugs, environmental samples and materials for its advantages including low detection limits, wide linear ranges, speed of response and simple equipment. In recent years, Flow-injection (FIA), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and immobilized reagent are involved in the CL analysis, which will make CL analysis become a more ideal, widely used analytical method. The investigation of the literatures showed that there was relatively less research of the pharmaceutical analysis in CL-FIA analysis. So we focus on the establishment of some drugs in pharmaceutical preparations, four aspect research have been carried out in this paper:Part 1: The CL properties of ergonovine maleate have been studied and a new CL analytical system of determination of ergonovine maleate has been established. The CL intensity was correlated with concentration of ergonovine maleate in the range of 1.0 X 10~ 6~6.0 X 10~4g/mL with a detection limit of 2.59X10~7g/ mL. The method has been applied to the determination of ergonovine maleate in pharmaceutical preparations and the results are in good agreement with that of standard method.Part 2: The reactions between some oxidizing agents, luminous substance, enhancers and reserpine were studied and a new a new CL analytical system of KIO4-H+-H2O2-reserpine has been developed, The CL intensity was correlated with concentration of reserpine in the range of l.OX 10~6~1.0X 10~4g/mL with a detection limit of 2.69 X 1 0~7g/mL. The method has been applied to the determination of reserpine in pharmaceutical preparationsand the results are in good agreement with that of standard method.Part 3: The CL reaction of co-dergocrine -Hjfh - KIC>4 was investigated by FIA system. A new method for determination of co-dergocrine is reported. The CL intensity was correlated with concentration of co-dergocrine in the range of 8. OX 1(T7~1.0X l(T5g/mL with a detection limit of 1.54X 10~7g/ mL. The method has been applied to the determination of co-dergocrine in pharmaceutical preparations and the recovery is 95.5%.Part 4: A highly sensitive FIA-CL system has been developed for determination of methimazole by using the inhibition effect by methimazole on the CL reaction of isothiocyanatoisoluminol(ITCI)-hydrogen peroxide -OH". The method has been applied to the determination of methimazole in pharmaceutical preparations with satisfactory results.
