In this paper, the performance of USY zeolite containing Ca, Ni, Fe and V has been studied by XRD, N2-BET, TPR, DTA and XRF. The interaction between metals and USY and the effect of metal on the structure of USY have been investigated.The results indicated that melting point of metal oxide, ion radium of metal and the behavior between metal element and the components of USY framework, especially alumina influenced the stability of USY structure. The destructive effect of metals on USY decreased in the fol1owin~ order: V>Fe>Ni>Ca. The transition-metals on USY could accelerate the reduction process between each other. When USY were impregnated with both transition metals and Ca, Ca could retard the reduction of transistion metals. USY, Ca and transition metal formed new phase during hydrothermal aging. The distribution model of metals in USY and the interaction mechanism was suggested in the paper. Ca obeyed a non-uniform distribution model in US~ while V followed a uniform distribution model in USY. Ni interacted with framework Al to destroy the USY structure. The interaction between V and USY induced by solid state reaction between V and framework Al, then, V reacted with framework Si to destroy the USY structure.
