The characteristics of stellerite were studied by XRD , IR JJSC and TG. The ion exchange affected to the ore's crystal structure. The results show that Cu2+and Zn2+ destructed the ore's crystal structure at KXTC.4A zeolite were synthesized from stellerite. Many factors that have great effects on qualities of 4A zeolite were studied in detail. The results show that excellent detergent-use 4A zeolite can be synthesized at conditions: calcined at 800 癈 and for 1.5 hours, then hydrothermal reacted with moral composition of reaction mixture 3Na2O :Al2O:t:2 SiC>2:150 H2O at 95 癈 and for 5 hours. Y zeolites were synthesized from stellerite also. But it's synthesis conditions were different from 4A zeolite's, the reaction mixture must be aged at 60 "C for 12 hours, otherwise the Y zeolite can't be obtained. In addition, the moral composition of reaction mixture are 5Na20:Al2O3:10 SiC>2:200 FfcO and a kind of assistant of NaCl must be added. The mechanism of the synthesis of zeolite from stellerite are measured by XRD , IR and chemical analysis. The study shows that the reaction mixtures were transformed into gels partly in solution. Firstly the gels crystallized at the surface of the mixture and formed the seeds Then the gels crystallized at the seeds and formed zeolite. With the gels reducing the reaction mixture continued to be solved. This progress went on until the mixtures are transformed into zeolite.
