With the development of organic and petroleum chemical industry, the condition of water pollution has been worse and worse. In particular, environmental endocrine disrupter is a worldwide problem at present. Environmental endocrine disruptor (ED), also called environmental hormone, is a kind of external chemical substance, which may disturb the incretion of human beings and vertebrates. We choose O3/H2O2 process to investigate the removal of 2,4-D and benzophenone from the water. Such combination of ozone and hydrogen peroxide can produce OH radical, which enhances the degradation of organic pollutants. This paper investigated the Variation of removal efficiency with transferred hydrogen peroxide dosage and pH value. We also analyzed the oxidation products with GC-MS and LC-MS. And the results showed that their benzene rings could be destroyed to produce carboxylic acids with the decreasing of toxicity. These above-mentioned further testified that the O3/H2O2 process was a competitive method for the removal of 2,4-D and benzophenone from the water. Based on the oxidation products, the possible reaction pathway was also proposed for the oxidation of 2,4-D and benzophenone by O3/H2O2 process.
