Water protection is a present focus of circumstance protection of the whole world with water quality detection being an important content. China has a relatively scarce water resource of 2700m per person. Most area, especially the region of Beijing and Tianjin, are facing more severe situation. What make it worse is that the rare water resource was polluted with all kinds of pollutants, and now the poisonous organic pollutants have caused more attention than before for its great dangerousness, aboundance and widely distribution. In this project, poisonous organic pollutants, especially Benzene homologs,in the ground water of southwest Beijing are studied. The object was the water of Guanting water system, ranging from the Yanghe River,Guishuihe River to the lower reaches,Yongdinghe River, with a total of 13 sample sites. The poisonous organic pollutants were qualitatively and quantitatively determined by LLE-GC-MS and SPE-GC-MS. 18 Benzene homologs were detected including 5 firstly controlled ones with a concentration ranging from 0.02 to 8.3 u g/L. The mud from Yong1000 and Yong1008 were analyzed too. 14 Benzene homologs were determined including 4 firstly controlled ones with a concentration from 0.06 to 0.85 ug/g.The distribution rule of Benzene homologs was found and the relation between Benzene homologs' concentration and ground pollution was studied. Two methods of sample pretreatment in the analysis of Trace Organic Pollutants (LLE & SPE) were compared. Particular study was made to SPE and practical condition for SPE was set up.
