According to the difficulty of weak gel to be used in high temperature reservoirs, a series of weak gel was developed fitting for high temperature application .A new chemical, named NN, was made from many organic matters to help for the stability of weak gel under high temperature. And it proved that NN could do good to weak gel from the result of our experimentation. Partially dehydrolized polyacrylamide (HPAM), a kind of aqueous polymer, was used to make weak gel as the main agent. Formaldehyde/phenol was adopted as the crosslinker. The results show that the newly developed weak gel has good quality and stability in the condition of high temperature (115癈) .The mechanism of weak gel technology for enhanced oil recovery applications was studied by the use of liner model, layer model, and multiple model in the experimentation to explore the rule of the flow of weak gel in pores. Heterogeneous reservoirs, the allocation of gel and the permeability were taken into consideration. What's more, we enlarge the video of the process of weak gel's flowing from which we get some motion mechanism. All these showed from the aspect of microscope that weak gel can realize profile modification treatments in order to reduce the water- cut and to control gas coning, weak gel can shut the passage of high permeability and compel the flooding liquid to change its direction into low permeability zone. We cited the case of the pilot test result of application in Gao 30 in Huabei oil field.
