The once primary processing and twice processing technology has been used to process the powder ore of Huashugou in the high Strong_magnetism processing fields production system of the mineral processing plant of Jiuquan Iron and Steel Company. At present, the problems of lower concentrate grade and recovery rate exist in the production. On one hand, the mineral particles size are smaller and the grinding particles size of mineral processing plant is insufficient. These caused the concentrate grade is lower. On the other hand , the Jones high intensity magnetic separator has been used in the mineral processing plant. The less then 37 micron iron ore can not be recovered by this kind of equipment sufficiently. So the tailing grade is higher , the metal recovery rate is lower.With the development of the high intensity magnetic separator, the permanent magnetic high gradient separator manufactured by the USA has better result to the micro particles low intensity magnetic minerals. Based on the features of our iron ore, and also consider the mineral processing of low grade red iron ore production practice of home and abroad, the experiment and study of the high intensity梙igh gradient^ the high magnetic 梙igh gradient thick and thin classification processingx the high magnetic 梙igh gradient stage griding-and-separation technology have been made. The purpose is to make use of the permanent magnetic high gradient separator to further optimize Jiugang' s mineral processing technological process and achieve the improveness of the concentrate grade and recovery rate.By comparing the technical performance and economical benefit of these methods, we defined that the best method is the high intensity-high gradient stage griding-and-separation technology. The technical performance are as follows: the concentrate grade is 48.49%, the metal recovery rate is 85. 12%, the ratio of concentration is 1.60. Comparing with the former once primary processing and twice processing technology, the cost of concentrate ore lower 9.88 yuan per ton, and increase income of 14461300 yuan per year.
