Aiming at the fact that the wastewater treatment effect of freeway affiliated facility in our country is not very good and the setting of wastewater treatment equipment is not appropriate, this paper analyzes and summarizes the present discharge characteristics, treatment conditions and processing techniques of the freeway affiliated facility sewage on the foundation of the investigation on sewage treatment condition of freeway affiliated facility for the part of our country. Based on this, the strongpoints and shortcomings, applicability and treatment effects of the present sewage treatment methods of our country's freeway affiliated facility were analyzed and discussed. According to different environmental discharge standards, the sewage treatment methods that appropriate for freeway affiliated facility were classified and summarized. The treatment of low concentration sewage was tested with upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor. The feasibility and superiority of anaerobic biotechnology applying in sewage treatment of freeway affiliated facility were discussed. The results indicates that under the normal temperature, when the hydraulic retention time (HRT) is 24 hours, the removal efficiencies of CODcr are found to be 91.04~97.8%,the monitor values of CODCr are 9.66~41.77mg/L, and when the hydraulic retention time (HRT) is 48 hours, the removal efficiencies of CODcr are found to be 96.51-99.46%,the monitor values of CODCr are 2.5~ 14.56mg/L.This indicates that with enough retention time, the water quality of UASB can achieve class-one of 《Integrated wastewater discharge standard》(GB8978-1996), and anaerobic wastewater treatment process has great potential to small discharge and low concentration domestic wastewater like the wastewater of freeway affiliated facility.
