This paper studied the characteristics of domestic-sewage treatment and the effect of anaerobic-aerobic process with Up-flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket Reactor and Anaerobic Baffled Reactor in ambient temperature. The two reactors were operated at 6h~24h hydraulic retention time(HRT),with influent COD concentration in the range of 255~1772mg/L,influent SS concentration in the range of 48.4~1381mg/L, organic loading rate in the range of 0.1628~4.192kgCOD/(m~3·d), and temperature in the range of 9℃~29.2℃as a base-line condition. The results showed that the effect of treatment of domestic-sewage by UASB and ABR was technically feasible. Through these experiments, some conclusions are shown as following:1. The effect of treatment of domestic-sewage by UASB was eminent and removal efficiencies of COD was 61.2%~96.6%, removal efficiencies of SS was 47.5%~96.2%. The removal efficiencies of COD enhanced 28.4% and 44.1% when UASB respectively combined with hydralic drop aeration and aeration Biological Filtration. It showed that the effect of aeration Biological Filtration was superior to hydralic drop aeration of the height of 0.5m.2. The effect of treatment of domestic-sewage by ABR was eminent and removal efficiencies of COD was 44.8%~94.6%, removal efficiencies of SS was 67.1%~92.9%. The most of COD had been removed at the first and the second compartment and other compartment had little removal efficiencies. The removal efficiencies of COD enhanced 9.5% and 24.9% when ABR respectively combined with hydralic drop aeration and aeration Biological Filtration. It showed that the effect of aeration Biological Filtration was superior to hydralic drop aeration of the height of 0.5m.3. HRT, temperature, organic loading rate and influent COD concentration were main influence factors on removal efficiencies of COD treatment of domestic-sewage by UASB and ABR. Removal efficiencies of COD was reduced when HRT was shortened and temperature was lowered. For UASB, Removal efficiencies of COD increased with increasing organic loading rate under 2.2kgCOD/(m~3·d). Removal efficiencies of COD decreased with increasing organic loading rate above 2.2kgCOD/(m~3·d). Removal efficiencies of COD increased with increasing organic loading rate with ABR. Removal efficiencies of COD increased with increasing influent concentration at same hydraulic retention time. Organic load and temperature had little influence little and HRT is a main influence factor on treatment of domestic-sewage by UASB and ABR reactor.4. Comparatively, it had shown that removal efficiencies of COD were near when HRT is above 12h. The removal efficiencies of COD of UASB were better than ABR when HRT is below 8h. Increasing shock load had little impact on UASB at low HRT.
