The chemically modified electrodes have been a most burgeoning and one of the most flourish research realms in the electrochemistry and electroanalytic chemistry . It was for the moment widely applied in many cases such as life sciences , environmental science , analytic science and material science . In this paper dibenzo-18-crown-6 modified glassy carbon electrode was made by dropwise method . The behaviors of epinephrine on this modified electrode was studied by cyclic voltammetry in the three kinds of medium including 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 solution , Mcllvaine buffer solution and KRPB buffer solution . It has been found that the electrodes have similar properties which were prepared by the dropwise method and the electrodeposition method . The film of dibenzo-18-crown-6 may protect electroactives of the modified electrode . The dibenzo-18-crown-6 modified electrode shows high sensitivity in determination of EP. The electron transfer process of epinephrine on this modified electrode is controlled by diffusion , which controlled by diffusion on glassy carbon electrode in high concentration of EP, and becomes adsorption as the concentration of epinephrine decreases.Ferrocene modified glassy carbon electrode was made by dropwise method. Cyclic voltammetry was performed to study electrochemical behaviors of modified electrodes in KRPB buffer solution. The results indicate that ferrocene modified film shows high catalytic activity towards the electrochemical behaviors of epinephrine, and the electron transfer process is controlled by diffusion. Ferrocene and EP can exchange electron spontaneously, catalytic reaction can be produced with each other. The reduction peak current of ferrocene modified electrode decreases as the concentration of epinephrine increases. The relationship between ipc,Fc and CEP is linear in the range of 6.5×10-5mol/L~5.02 ×10-4 mol/L ,with the correlation coefficient of 0.9947. This ferrocene modified electrode can be used in the determination of EP.The catalytic activity of homogeneous phase chemical reaction toward out phase electron transfer process by cyclic voltammetry at the glass carbon electrode in toluene - ethanol mixed solvent . The results indicate multistep mechanism of chemical reaction for electron transfer of epinephrine, and manifest adsorption property of surface; the electron transfer of ferrocene is unit step chemical reaction mechanism, which shows an excellent catalytic activity to the electron transfer reaction of epinephrine. H2O2 can catalyze the electron transfer reaction of ferrocene, and it is not out phase electron transfer reaction. H2O2 does not show catalytic activity toward the electron transfer process of epinephrine, but shows promote catalysis. Then epinephrine modified glass carbon electrode was made by crosslinkage method, and cyclic voltammetry was performed to study electrochemical behaviors of modified electrode in toluene - ethanol mixed solvent in the presence of mixtures of ferrocene and H2O2. The experimental results indicate that the reaction mechanism of epinephrine on modified electrode is similar to that of being in solution.
