Concurrent Engineering has become one of the most important models in manufacturing industry. The product design and manufacturing equipment can be optimized each other by manufacturability evaluation. Manufacturability evaluation is meaningful for guiding the product design and forming the optimal machine set in Concurrent Engineering.First, the manufacturing methods are studied in the dissertation. At the same time, the excellent, shortcoming of various kinds of methods have been studied and analyzed. Suitable methods can be adapted to high-efficient center-less machine. The dimensions, just as the structures of the parts designed, should be checked whether they meet the manufacture constraints so as to guarantee the manufacturability of the axis parts. The dimensions are the attributes of features and can be judged directly through the capabilities of the equipment that manufacture the features. The dimensions that constrains the relations among features of the axis parts are contained in the structures larger that features-substructures. Not all dimensions that constrains the relations among features can be guaranteed directly by manufacture equipment. Some of them may be guaranteed indirectly through other dimensions too. Substructures that may contain such indirectly guaranteed dimensions are extracted from axis parts information according to the corresponding descriptions of such kind of substructures, so that the dimensions on the axis part which can not be guaranteed directly can be identified, and used in dimensions tree transformation. In dimensions tree transformation, the dimensions tree, which represents the related dimensions in a certain direction, are transformed to a new dimensions tree which contains no indirectly-guaranteed dimensions. Dimensions represented by such new dimensions tree can be judged directly through capabilities of the corresponding manufacture equipment.Secondly, according to many data recorded in the workplace, this text classifies the failures of rolling bearings into several typical failures. By using the data processing technology, we can establish a practice diagnostic system. Thus, not only we can diagnose the part of failure in bearing, but also easy to realizing the exact diagnosis by computer.Finally, functional machining areas are built up by using EFCM (extended fuzzy-c means clustering) algorithm. The machines that have the same or similar process elements are clustered into a group. EFCM algorithm is defined as the ratio ofthe average machine variation within the same group and the average machine repeat between the different groups. The new cluster validity measure can not only optimize the number of groups, but also ensure the maximum machine compactness within the group and the minimum machine overlapping between different groups.
