In this paper, the technics of preparating methylmethacrylate by cracking waste plexiglas and the application were studied.Firstly, the small test of preparating methyl methacrylate by cracking waste plexiglas was studied in detail. The examination of cracking temperature, variety of materials and the average size of particles effect on products of cracking were conducted. The results showed that the most suitable technics of intermission crack method were followed: when the material was transparent waste plexiglas, the average size of particle was about 10 millmeters and the main controlling temperature was 223 ? degree, the content of MMA was 93.10% and the yield of MMA was 89.97%.The suitable add amount of inhibitor was 400ppm when rectifying raw monomer and the feasible lye was 6%oNa2CO3 when using alkali to wash.Refining monomer and preparating plexiglas sheet having yellow color were researched. The two projects were adopted, one was to add fluorescence adding white acidifier OB and PF, the other was to process alkali to wash and add additive before rectifying. The results showed that additive had good property and the content of MMA was up to 98.21% after rectifying and the appearing light ratio was up to 92.1% when the add amounts were 1/1000. After matching MMA received by cracking to MMA received by composing and preparating plexiglas sheets using it, the results showed that the appearing light ratio was 93.0% and the hardness was 278HB when the concentration of MMA by composing was 75% .Use MMA received by cracking to research functionality plexiglas. After studying absorb ultraviolet radiation plexiglas sheets, the good ultraviolet absorbent UV-326 was selected and the appropriate adding amounts were 4 10-4 of MMA. Fog plexiglas sheets were prepared by copolymerizating styrene with MMA. The amounts of styrene effect on the property of product and polymerization condition were tested and the good technics were obtained.
