In the modern industry, the manufacturing of sheet metal has played a more and more important role in mechanism,metallurgy,petrochemical, automobile, ships, aeronautics and astronautics as well. Currently, carried out on the sheet metal has been little theoretical study of the scale. However, accurate interface information to deal with sheet metal tube types is very limited, The majority can only make approximate processing. And in the existing plate work design with launches in the software, interface and thickness issues remain unresolved.According to the demands of production, application of graphical methods, analysis modelling, numerical methods analysis and extraction of interface geometric information for structure of sheet metal of pipes. And, in the graphic method, can be accurately made of sheet metal interface interval of transition, the critical point and the interface curves and other information; In the analytical modeling have been accurate sheet metal tube structure of the interface curve interface, interface surfaces, as well as the critical point of transition between the mathematical model. Thus, has obtained the new mathematical model in the computational method. And through the summary of analyzes the method solution process, has obtained a solution of the general rules of interface information; In the numerical methods through of application the new numerical algorithms, can more accurately extract the geometric information of interface,and on the basis of this, through the redevelopment of UG in the way, realized the model foundation of sheet metal of pipes with real interface in the three dimensional computer-aided design software. Thus, application of numerical methods has realized the extraction of interface geometric information for structure of sheet metal of pipes universalization, parametrization and computer-aided design application. And the numerical methods (model building and solution) and on this basis the development of the interface geometry information extraction system can be used as base modules of parametric design system.The partical of numerical methods,the software of UG NX4.0is taken as platform, in the use of the redevelopement tools such as UG/Open MenuScript, UG/Open UIStyler, UG/Open API and VC++6.0programming language orientating objects, a system of parameterized designing and Extraction of Interface Geometric Information.
