Inertial confinement fusion (ICF) is an alternative way to achieving controlled thermonuclear fusion. The basic idea is to ignite and burn a few milligrams of deuterium-tritium fuel by means of highpower laser or ion beam pulses. ICF target is one of the key components of ICF facilities, the micro capsula for deuterium-tritium fuel is the core of ICF target. In this paper, the UV-curable adhesive system for ICF application is introduced.UV-curable acrylates and hybrid-modied acrylates were prepared and the conclusions wree listed below: ⑴ The epoxy resin acrylate was prepared by esterification, the residual epoxy value ratio and residual acid value ratio was monitored by chemical titration. The results indicated that the Benzyltriethylammonium chloride is performance catalyst.⑵ The organic/inorganic hybrid resins were prepared by sol-gel process, FTIR spectrum indicated there's optical sensitive groups in the hybrid resin. The thermal analysis suggested the thermal stability of hybrid resin is better than the organic resin.⑶ UV-curable adhesives based on epoxy resin acrylate, polyacrylate resin were prepared. The research results indicated that the ERA-UA adhesive system has better syntheses properties than epoxy resin acrylate adhesive. The coupling agent, 3-(Methyacryloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane (MSMA), was introduced into UV-curable polyacrylate resin. The effect of coupling agent was investigated, the results showed that the adhesive has stronger shear strength and poaching resistance when the MSMA was introduced in polyacrylate main chain than which as addition of the polymer system.⑷ The mechanics analysis of adhesive under high-low temperature showed the organic/inorganic hybrid adhesive had better high temperature resistance and higher shear-strength. In the scope of -190℃~350℃, the change of lap shear strength was little. When the content of SiO2 between 25~40wt%, the shear-strength of hybrid adhesive was beyond 10MPa.⑸ The curing process and curing parameters influenced the adhesion of adhesive, too. The UV radiation intensity, the concentration of initiator, the radiation time effected the shear-strength of adhesive. The result of indicated the higher radiation intensity, shorter radiation time, lower initiator concentration and could make for better adhesive. ⑹ The volume shrinkage ratio of UV-curable hybrid adhesive curing process was lower than 4%. The desolvent and dehydration process provided a novel method to prepare low shrinkage ratio hybrid materials and had a prosperity future in fabrication of ICF target..
