Because photografting in surface has advantage of technology, lotsresearcher in world studied it from vary aspect. In this article, newresearch ware perfected from three aspects: 1) the effect of very lowcontent of photo-initiator on photo-grafting; 2) the study of surfaceprecipitation-photografting polymerization; 3) the study of ATR-FTIRmeasuring the thickness of grated layer. That acrylic acid (AA) was photo-grafted on some kinds of filmssurface was studied, by using 1×10-5mol/l BP/Acetone as initiator, andfilm grafted functionization was researched. The effect of teeny initiatorcontent on film modification and surface morphology, by using contactangle, SEM, ATR. At the same time, the film functionizated wasstudied. Precipitation-photografting polymerization was investigated withacrylamide grafted onto the surface of polypropylene (PP) film. Thesurface grafting predominated in the process of polymerization ininitiated 30 second irradiation time. When irradiation time increased, theyields of grafted polymer increase slowly because of precipitationscreening ultraviolet (UV), and thus the yields of homopolymer increasedgreatly. The principal factors affecting the surface photograftingpolymerization such as irradiation time, AM and BP concentrationsolvent were investigated systematically. The grafting quantity increasedwhen concentration of the AM and BP respectively increased, but thegrafting quantity decreased with the increase of water content. When thewater content up to 80%, no grafting polymerization occurred. The effect III北京化工大学硕士毕业论文of solvent on distributions of graft chain on PP film surface was studiedby ATR-FTIR. When the solvent is mixture of water and AC, the graftchain distribute mostly on film surface. While the solvent is AC, the somegraft chain distributed inside the film. The topography of grafted film wasinvestigated by SEM. The grafted chain on surface conglomeratedrounded structure which its size was 200-300nm. The grafted chain wasstretched to form flake structure in good solvent, while curled to formrounded configuration in poor solvent. A method which quantificationally measures the thickness ofgrafting layer of grafted-film using ATR-FTIR. First, theory was deduced.Area formulation of ATR-absorbent was simplified, and the relation ofATR-absorbent, measure angle and the thickness of grafting layer geted.Second, the method was validated using experiment, then the method wasrightly applied in 10-100nm was obtained. Fast, the method was appliedin grafted layer of precipitation-photografting polymerization, and aresult satisfied was gained.
