The Metal Foam Structure And Properties Of The Relationship Between Simulation Studies

Foam metal is a new type of multifunctional material composed of metal framework and higher porosity, which possesses lightweight, sound insulation, heat insulation, shockproof, anticoncussion and excellent electric and recycling character. It adapts to the needs of current development and has potential uses in aviation, spaceflight, aeroamphibious armaments, energy, traffic, communications and so on. The metal has recently become one of focuses in the field of materials.The study of foam metal mainly focuses on research prepare, structural characters, properties and applications. At present, the prepare of foam metal has greatly achieved and foam metal can be obtained by kinds of means. But structural characters are more paid attention to, which has direct relation to prosperity. The excellent structural characters are mainly mechanical properties, energy absorbing and damper characteristics, thermal conductivity properties and noise elimination , shock absorption properties and electromagnetism shield properties, which are commonly researched by experiment and test. But finite element simulation has become an important measure with the development of Computer Aided Engineering.The relative simulation of foam metal structure properties -mechanical properties and energy absorbing- is studied by FEA software. The key point is compressive curve, which has obvious three phases: (1) linear-elasticity deformation (2) plateau regime (3)desiflcation. Foam metal is considered high densities disfigurement material in the design of simulation research. It is considered from geometry figure and run according to entitative metal, meeting the basic laws of metal shaping. By approximate compressive curve, mechanical properties and energy absorbing of foam metal are measured and estimated under condition of certain porosity.
