In recent 20 years, the discovery of more active chiral catalysts and more efficient hydrogen donors has given the possibility of obtaining high reaction rates under mild conditions. The Meerwein-Ponndorf-Verley reduction enjoys a prominent historical position in synthesis methodology.and milder variants of this process utilizing trivalent samarium(III) catalysts continue to improve the utility of this reaction for the reduction of ketones. The ligand (R,R)-L,giving the highest selectivities for the MPV reduction ,so we synthesized three chiral ligands which come from the ligand (R,R)-L*. A neat mixture of benzylamine and (R)-(+)-phenyloxirane was stirred at room temperature for 5 minutes and then at 120'Cfor 13 h. the reaction mixture was chromatographed with colum of silica gel and synthesized three new chiral ligand C23H24N02C1 ,C24H27NO2,C24H27NO3. The yield of all the ligands was good, they have been identified to have optical power by examining. On the basis of elemental analyses, infrared, IR spectrum, 'HNMR and MALDI-TOF-MS , it is concluded that these complexes were what we want and have not been reported.
