Waterflood development of oilfield is an important way of development scheme in our country. The timing of conversion is one of the important problems of Waterflood development. Combining the characteristics of the offshore field exploitation, the methods of streamline model and economical objection model were put forward. In this paper, the principle of two methods was expatiated, the mathematic model was established, the method of getting solution was offered, and the computing program was made. Then, both methods above were applied in the QiKou 17-2 oilfield of BoHai Company to study the timing of conversion. During the applying of economical objection method, Reservoir geologic model and reservoir simulation model were built up, and made history matching. The parameters of oil production, water production, and water injection were forecasted by using reservoir numerical simulation method. Putting these parameters into economical objection model, the timing of conversion in the QiKou 17-2 oilfield of BoHai Company was determined. The conclusion obtaining from economical objection method was acknowledged by the managers and the technicians of Tianjin Branch Company of CNOOC, and has been put into practice because it included more factors. This indicates that the method doesn' t only has the theory intention, but also has the application value.
