Damping Rubber Materials

In this paper, Chloroprene Rubber (CR) is selected as the basic material of the damping rubber in application of subway. The craftwork as well as the compounding ingredients of CR and CR/NR are concretely studied and some of the process parameters are probed into and optimized.In order to improve the property of process craftwork of CR, we researched the CR/NR blend. In the end the blending ratio of CR to Natural Rubber (NR) in the CR / NR blend is settled as 90 to 10, the mechanics properties and craftwork of the vulcanizate of the CR / NR blend were preferably.In order to improve the tensile strength and rigidity, the filling agents were studies mostly .We researched several kinds of filling agents and adding rigidity agents, and we found out the rules between them and the properties of the vulcanizate of the CR / NR blend. We also researched the process parameters such as vulcanizing temperature, vulcanizing time and vulcanizing press and the accelerant and compounding oil. Finally we get two preferable filling agents, one is the blend high abrasion furnace black(HAF) for filling agent, another is bezonic acid for adding rigidity agent. The vulcanization parameters are settled as the vulcanizing temperature 140℃~145℃, the vulcanizing pressure 8.5MPa and the vulcanizing time 20min.Through the test of mechanics properties, the properties of the vulcanizate gained by the two directions were preferable, the properties reach as the tension strength≥ 18. 5MPa, the elongation at break ≥ 450%, the Shore hardness ≥ 70 and the tension set ≤ 12%.The morphologies of the vulcanizate at break were observed and analysed by the scan electronic mirror(SEM), the damping coefficient (tg5) and the properties of the damping were preferably by the test of the dynamic mechanics analysis(DMA).
