Aerostatic motorized spindles are part of advanced machining tools, which integrate both high precision and high speed machining performances, so they represent the main development of advanced high precision machining spindles. Load capacity and stiffness are important standards judging performances of machining tools' spindles and deciding the machining level. The key technology of aerostatic motorized spindle lies in bearings. This work is based on patent product: High speed "Full Support" aerostatic motorized spindle. Aiming at the spindle's static performances, many theoretical calculation and experimental researches have been developed on the basis of aerostatic bearing analysis.According to the character of "Full Support" aerostatic motorized spindle's configuration, a bearing analysis scheme was decided, ie, reducing the "Full Support" bearing into parts. According to gas lubrication theories, the mathematical model of aerostatic bearing with inherent orifice was developed. Secondary development was carried out by relating the methods of (FEA) finite element analysis about gas lubrication with the slide bearing analysis module of Marc, one current FEA software. The properties of aerostatic bearing were solved, and some optimum parameters of configuration and gas were obtained.Based on the property of part aerostatic bearing, "Full Support" aerostatic motorized spindle was reduced, and its FEA model was set up. Making use of the current FEA software ANSYS, the spindle's static performances were calculated. Then the loading mechanism of "Full Support" configuration was discussed. The influences of different arrangements and numbers of aerostatic bearings on motorized spindle's static performances were also analyzed. Then some methods of improving load properties were concluded. The practical static properties of "Full Support" motorized spindle were...
