Since 1979,the plant growth hormone-brassinolide and its analogues were isolated from pollen of the rape and leaves of tea.The brassinolide and its analogues which are new kind of plant growth regulators have remarkable biological activities in promoting division and growth of plant cells in very little density ,and they can strengthen the ability of fighting chill and fighting plant disease to enhance the product of crops. But the scarcity of the natural materials of brassinolide and its analogues can t satisfy the necessary of agricultural development. So the synthetic work are absolutely necessary in study of synthesis and farming. The six intermediates (the mixed phytosterol tosylate , 3,5-cyclo-phytosterol, 3,5-cyclo-6-cholestone, 2,3-ene-6-cholestone, 2,3-epoxy(22,23-epoxy) -6- cholestone and 2,3-epoxy(22,23-epoxy)-7-oxy--6-cholestone) and target product--the mixed phytosterol lactones and its analogues) are synthesized from the mixed phytosterols (sitosterol, campsterol, stigmasterol, brassicasterol ) in the waste materials of oil industry. In the process of the synthesis, a series of the conditional experiments which include the change of temperature, time, solvent and catalyst are studied in order to get better product and shorten the experimental steps .The economical and little poisonous catalyst succinic acid peroxide replaces the expensive and high poisonous catalyst OsO4 in the epoxidization and reduces the two steps into one step ,Thus shortening the reaction time and reducing the reaction steps. The whole process of synthesis is brief, and succinic acid peroxide as catalyst to synthesize brassinolide are not reported in documents.
