The mash equipment (the mash kettle) is one of the key equipment of the industry of beer. The functions of the mixing equipment are mixing, heat transferring, solid-liquid suspension, etc. in the mash kettle. The thesis analyzed and compared the impellers which are often used domestic and international mash kettle. And 13 kinds of impellers are used with experiment research and numerical simulation.In the stirred tank of 375mm , have carried on experiment research to 13 kinds of impeller, have investigated impeller type , rotational speed , density ,etc. the operating factor to various kinds of influence of power consumption of mixing power and time. The experiment shows : Considering mixing the power number and mixing efficiency synthetically, two layers impeller that author get out of mixing efficiency number C4 is minimum and the mixing characteristic is the best.The inside field of the mash kettle is imitated with FLUENT software. Through to numerical simulation of 13 kinds of impellers, they are compared at flow field and velocity field, according to flow field and velocity field , simulation result indicate, best mixing performance impellers are HUM impeller and 2 layers of impeller.
