High Performance Flame Retardant Resin Matrix Copper Clad Laminate

A modified resin system with high performance has been obtained by copolymerization of 4, 4'-diphenylbismaleimide, diallylbisphenol A with suitable proportion and prepolymerization. Using the modified resin system as matrix, and the glass fiber as reinforcement, and acetone as main solvent, and bromize epoxy/dicyandiamide, aluminum borate whiskers , aluminium hydroxide powder as flame retardant respectively, the impregnant and half-cured sheet with fine properties are prepared , what's more, flame retardancy, dielectrical properties, mechanical properties , thermal stability and other properties such as ratio of water absorption and peel strength of the copper clad laminate based on the modified resin system with flame retardant have been studied.The finest resin system is settled down through experiment and analysis. The solubility, curing kinetic and mechanism of the modified resin are studied by FTIR infrared and DSC apparatus, as well as the confect of impregnant, impregating, dryness and laminate processing of the copper clad laminate. Influence of these three sorts of flame retardants and different proportion of each additive upon copper clad laminates properties such as flame retardancy, dielectrical properties, mechanical properties have been discussed.Fitting laminate processing of the copper clad laminate and quantity of entering flame retardant are ascertained.Copper clad laminate with not only excellent flame retardancy, but also excellent other properties which can gratify the need of high performance copper clad laminate has been prepared by using proper flame retardant resin systems.
