With Safety Work laws being enacted and China's company integrating with theworld market, safety management become more and more important in coal mines'production.Because of company's large scale and complexity, administrators need tounderstand and master a lot of safety information. Safety information system canpromote scientific safety management. Advanced safety information technology canbe used to analyze information and make decision quickly, and to prevent accidentand insure safety. A complete safety information system not only can improve safetymanagement's efficiency and quality and promote coal mines' safety managementlevel, but also count and analyze accident's reason and consequence. This systemalso can support safety supervision and make safety measure and plan. In view of coal mine space information data's real situation, this paper usedArcView to develop safety information management system of Anlin coal mine. According to overall thinking of system development, this paper's centralcontent is to expand the development of safety information management system ofAnlin coal mine. Considering the complexity of coal mines' safety system, safetyinformation management system of Anlin coal mine was divided into four systems:production system, ventilation system, electric system and succor system. Theentirety development process of this system is as follow: converting drawing datuminto "AutoCAD" graphics file, importing "AutoCAD" graphics files and changingthem into edited themes based on "shape" file in "ArcView". According to differentsubstance properties, point theme, Line theme and Polygon theme can be edited andchanged character. In order to demand different users, we could design user interfaceand define hotlink, which could link text, picture and video frequency. Video linkcould be realized by script programmer. The remarkable feature of ArcView is that it can integrate space data withattribute data dynamically. The core part of this system development is to turndrawing datum, namely space data, into digital atlas in "ArcView", and then sort thedrawing datum into Point, Line, Polygon theme which user required so that we couldedit and manage these themes. The development process of this system is open. Users can edit and appendinformation at any moment if they want. The editing function of system is verypowerful no matter what is in Views or in attribute tables. The operation of system isstraightforward. It is apt to maintain. According to factual change in productionprocess, users may have real-time editing operation such as additions and deletions,modification, etc, so that the system can be constantly updated and perfected.
