Currently, high-speed processing has become a developing trend in machining and has been an extensive application. And high-speed milling, one of the hottest fields in the current numerical control technology of machining, is well suited to process hard-cutting materials such as hardening steel, graphite and titanium alloy etc. While one of the typical application of high-speed processing is the high-speed milling of thin-walled graphite electrode and parts.This is one of the vital subjects of ten "five-year" plans in GuangDong. This subject's group has researched the cutting mechanism and the abrasion mechanism of the cutter in the condition of the high-speed milling of high-performance graphite by small diameter millingcutter. This essay focuses on the optimization of technological parameter on the high-speed milling of thin-walled graphite electrode and parts. However, because of the high hardness and brittleness of the graphite, the impropriety of technological parameter can cause it may break in corners or go to pieces or become discard. Therefore it is practically meaningful to research the best-suited technological parameter of high-speed milling of the thin-walled graphite electrode and parts.The main contents of this essay are as follows:1. The dissertation of the structural, technological features and the processing method of the graphite.2.This essay researches the influence of technological parameter and processing manner on the cutting force of side milling of the thin-walled articles. The results show that the helical depth has the maximum effect on the cutting force and the following are the feeding amount of each tooth, radical depth, while the cutting speed affects it lest. In addtion,the different milling manner also has a certain influence on the cutting force..3.
