In this research, SBR/ Montmorillonite A,B,C,D nanocomposites have been prepared by emulsion intercalation. Montmorillonite were prepared in our lab. The preparation technology and the relationship between micro-structure and property of nanocomposites have been studied. The result of the study showed that the nanocomposites A is the best, because that the SBR/ Montmorillonite C has the high property and can be industrialized.The result of Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) showed that layers of Montmorillonite were exfoliated, intercalated and dispersed in matrix homogeneously. According to statistical data, average thickness of layers was 10nm, and the thickness of the biggest layers was less than 40nm, only a few layers were exfoliated in monolayer whose thickness was about lnm.Mechanical property, flame retardancy and attrition retardancy of nanocomposites have been studied. We found that the SBR/ Montmorillonite C has the best property. When the content of fillers was low, the mechanical property of SBR/Montmorillonite nanocomposites is higher than that of carbon black reinforced rubber. The property of SBR/carbon black/Montmorillonite is higher than that of SBR/carbon black.The comparison between nanocomposites and carbon black reinforced rubber was made. Through the comparison of property and technics between the SBR/organophilic montmorillonite nanocomposites and SBR/Na-montmorillonite nanocomposites , we chose the SBR/Na-montmorillonite nanocomposites that can be industrialized. The results of comparison showed thatWe made the Montmorillonite solution for the production technics, and added the Montmorillonite solution in the process of the production of SBR latex. In this way, we can predigest the production technics. There are no infections on the production of SBR latex.In this research, the production process of the SBR/Montmorillonite nanocomposites has been theoretically analyzed.
